I went to Costa Rica a few years ago and one day when I was sitting on the beach there was a small group of people next to me that were laughing hysterically. They were not talking or looking at anything and seemed to be laughing at nothing at all. I’m talking hold your stomach, fall down laughing and it was contagious. My first thought was that they might have taken some drugs that made them laugh like that, but I realized later when I walked by the nearby yoga studio and saw a sign that said “laughing yoga” that they were part of that class. It was so interesting to realize that even just making a concerted effort to smile or laugh can have positive effects on your level or happiness and well-being. Try it!
